Peter Bermudes
Peter became the principal of glpr in 2020, after being a primary consultant to the practice for over two decades. Prior to that, he worked in the publicity and marketing departments of two Boston-based publishing houses, learning both the broad strokes of how publishers plan campaigns, and the particulars of how publicity and marketing frame them. And before all of that, Peter was a schoolteacher, promoting knowledge, equity and understanding within a different context.
Befitting his degree in philosophy, Peter enjoys framing books of a more academic bent for general audiences. He also relishes the opportunity to help prepare and support glpr clients as they become spokespeople for their books and issues.
So where does glpr get its name?
Back in 1992, Gail Leondar-Wright founded glpr as a way to help progressive authors promote their newly-published work. Now retired, Gail focuses on making music and supporting movements for progressive social change in ways other than book publicity.
